Remembering Joe Rauen

It is with deep sadness that I report that we have had a death in our Democratic family. On December 28th, former Kosciusko County Democratic Party Treasurer Joe Rauen suffered a stroke and unfortunately passed away on Monday.

Joe served our country in the United States Air Force. He was a longtime member of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post #257 and the Angola VFW.

In 2006, Joe ran for State Representative in opposition to the sale of the Indiana toll road. Despite running in a very heavily Republican district, “Toll Road Joe” received 45% of the vote.

The Kosciusko County Democrats send our deepest condolences to Joe’s wife Nora, and the rest of the Rauen family. You can read Joe’s full obituary online here
